k12 gallery
Client challenge. The goal of K12 as an organization is to inspire a sense of art appreciation and the value of artistic endeavors in the children of the Miami Valley. Along with inspiring children to engage in artistic activities, K12 provides venues for creation and exhibition. Unfortunately, until recently, K12 was burdened by a static website that did not allow content to be updated and that contained an out of date design that did nothing to promote the idea of artistic development. K12's old site also did not allow online donations or any other form of visitor interaction.
what we did
Atomic solution. K12 is rightfully proud of the work it does and is proud of the artistic achievements that so many children have accomplished by using the resources that K12 provides. Atomic found it unfortunate that these achievements were not shown on K12's first website and thus implemented a gallery that K12 uses to display the existing and new artwork of the children of the greater Miami Valley. K12 heavily relies upon community support and personal donations. By functioning with a drab, impersonal site, K12 was unable to receive donations even from people who wished to do so. Atomic designed the site in a way that not only encouraged visitors to become supporters but that also allowed users to become donors at the click of a button. Atomic equipped K12's new website with a content management system and event module that allows K12 administrators to update the community of art exhibitions, classes available and ongoing programs. The event module incorporates the dynamic use of Google Maps, so visitors will have no trouble finding where the next upcoming event will be held. The result? K12 now has a visually pleasing website that is more indicative of the artistic work that K12 and the children involved have created. Visitors are comfortable using a donation system that is connected to Paypal and the children are excited to see their projects on the web!
