GREG knox, Owner Knox Machinery
Knox is an Ohio-based distributor of CNC metal cutting equipment. We sell the best brands out there — Kitamura, YCM Supermax, and Jobs, to name a few. And we pride ourselves on offering our clients a “360 degree solution” for all their CNC needs, from sales and installation, to training and service, to financial services, and more.

We built a website for the company a few years ago, but we knew that we’d outgrown it., It was time to step up to the next level.

“We’ve had a phenomenal amount of positive feedback from our industry clients … Atomic really hit the mark.”

I met Atomic through the Dayton Tooling and Manufacturing Association, and I really liked their style. They were on their game in terms of understanding the digital world, and I felt that they had the maturity to really understand what I needed as a business owner.

I talked with about six different companies before I decided on Atomic. In terms of overall value, they clearly came out on top. Plus, I felt like their culture and work ethic matched our own.

When we started out, I told the guys that I would probably be their most difficult customer. I’d worked in advertising in New York, so I had some very specific ideas of what I wanted for the website.

But they did it. By the end of the project, I was blown away by how close to the mark Atomic hit it. They were able to understand my ideas and translate them visually and interactively. And they had an excellent infrastructure for accommodating changes—even ones I sent at 2:00 am from my laptop. Through the whole process, Atomic was accommodating, flexible, and professional.

Since the site’s been up, I’ve got a phenomenal amount of feedback from my industry clients. They can relate to its rough and rugged look. As a matter of fact, I’ve seen several of my competitors change their sites to mimic ours already. That’s OK: they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

A huge moment for us came at the annual meeting of the American Machine Tool Distributor’s Association. Their chief IT specialist was speaking about best practices in websites and interactivity, and how distributors should be taking advantage of social media channels like Facebook and YouTube. Up on the screen behind him flashed our new website. He was holding us up as the poster child for cutting-edge machine tool websites.

"Two thumbs up from me and the rest of the Donet gang. Your collective awesomeness cannot be expressed in words."
